It’s safe to say that over at TMR we’re fans of NoMBe. Having featured singles ‘Wait’, ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Freak Like Me’, Noah McBeth has won us over with his soul/electro hybrids and lo-fi vocals. Now the young singer is back with ‘Cant Catch Me’, a 60s rock-inspired number which features fellow LA natives and TH3RD BRAIN Accelerator graduates, New Mystics. The track has been chosen as the official theme to HBO’s documentary series ‘OUTPOST’, directed by Pharrell Williams. Speaking about NoMBe, Pharell says: “He makes music for the subconscious with colorful layers and unexpected water slides. He writes and produces dream sequences.” Nowhere is this more felt than in ‘Can’t Catch Me’, which has all the jangly hallmarks of a summer hit. So far on his evolving album They Might’ve Even Loved Me NoMBe has given us soul, R&B, electro and now sublime indie. We can’t wait to see where this project takes him next. -HM
