LAMBRINI GIRLS BODY OF MINE

Arriving to accompany their riotous recent single 'God's Country' as a limited edition 7" this Friday, 'Body of Mine' is an introspective yet equally visceral offering from radical punk duo Lambrini Girls. Having just ripped the government, the royal family, "flag-shaggers" and every other wrong'un in the UK a new one, 'Body of Mine' boasts the same pent up energy as 'God's Country' and the same noise-friendly producer in Daniel Fox of Gilla Band. Set over metallic guitar thrashes and thundering bass (that provides some SERIOUS bottom end), fast-paced drums keep vocalist Pheobe Lunny's lightning vocals just about grounded as their lyrics examine exposing personal experiences. The band explain: “This song is about trying to connect to your gender identity, feeling like you're not fully yourself, and struggling to figure out how to truly become it. Gender is a complex experience, we acknowledge that this song represents just one perspective among many, of not knowing where you fit inside it all. It’s tough to feel that nobody really gets you and it’s also truly quite shit when you don’t really know how to understand yourself either.” With a mammoth year of touring ahead (supporting IDLES and Amyl and the Sniffers as well as appearing at dozens of festivals and embarking on their first headline shows further afield), Lambrini Girls are a force to be reckoned with both live and on record. -Holly Mullineaux
