WESTERMAN I TURNED AWAY

A while ago we reviewed singer/songwriter Westerman’s 90s-inspired single ‘Confirmation’ but already the London-based artist is back with B-side ‘I Turned Away’. It’s the perfect foil to ‘Confirmation’, as the new track is intimate, minimal and confessional. “'I Turned Awayis about mirages and was recorded in one take with the intention of retaining it's rawness. It's about the realisation that what you thought was there was never really there - just your own impressions” – says Westerman about the release. The two tracks are both out via tastemaker label Blue Flowers, which plays home to The Most Radicalist favourites Nilüfer Yanya and Puma Blue. Catch him live as well on 17th April at The Shacklewell Arms in North East London. -Holly Manners
