Singer/songwriter Westerman has shared his silky smooth new single 'Confirmation' via buzzy West London label Blue Flowers (home of Nilüfer Yanya and Puma Blue). The track, produced by fellow musician Bullion, blends wonky guitar strums, swelling synth bass and 90s-inspired pop melodies. Sounding a little like Toto meets Arthur Russell, Westerman manages to execute the perfect balance of effortless cool meets catchy. Explaining his songwriting process Westerman said, “I still maintain that I like to be able to play my own songs on the guitar; I think it's a good discipline. But if you're writing songs and they're good, you should be able to play them without all of the bells-and-whistles of production. There’s always songwriting at the core of it – one person and an instrument.” -HLMX
