MOON TIDE GALLERY VENUS FLY TRAP

Sophisticated alt-indie outfit Moon Tide Gallery have dropped their new track, ‘Venus Fly Trap’. It represents an evolutionary stage for the Baltimore-based band, fronted by Mason Gainer, as they explore a more nuanced, luscious sound. The track’s blend of indie, psych and noise-pop is intoxicating, with a colourful blend of synth sounds interacting with distant guitar layers and a quietly intense, breakbeat-inspired drum pattern. The track “was written during a time of self-destruction where I began to recognize the deterioration of all my connections with people. Ultimately it’s about running away, and no matter how far you go you end up where you started.” Keep an eye out for Moon Tide Gallery’s new EP, Stop Looking At Me Like That, which is out in June 2024. -Dan Peeke
