In the run up to their debut EP, intrinsic London duo Majik return just three weeks after the release of ‘Talk To Me’ with another sensual, electronic endeavour titled ‘High’. Beginning with classic finger snaps and staticky electronic pulses, Marcus Fowler’s brooding vocal steps in to declare, “I've been running circles for you, I been catching feelings for two.” The track continues to wind around the steady rhythm and circular themes of being content in a holding pattern of romantic intoxication, for days and days. As per usual, Jamie Mac’s cautious approach to production is perfectly balanced, with that Eastern-influenced melody and subtle layers of samples creating a hedonistic reverie. - HT
