Tessa Rae is another Los Angeles artist contributing to a distinctly regional sound that is at its core pop, but making full use of electronics, DAWs and a millennial attitude that has us crying out for more. Other notable acts who lay claim to this emerging Californian pop style are Billie Eilish, Ryder, MOONZz, happy sometimes, among others and Tessa Rae is quickly coming up the ranks with tracks like ‘Fresh & Good’. This title could easily be read as a description of the song itself which uses super fresh beats laced through good-girl vocals. Another interpretation can be found in chorus line, “This love is fresh this love is good, good, good.” It’s most likely these words that will be circling around your mind long after the track has finished, branded there by Tessa Rae’s confident portrayal, the addictive see-saw melody and the smoky finish.
