S4U TOO MUCH

Having only hit the scene late last year, it’s safe to say that S4U have been producing quality music at an extraordinary rate. The UK collective dropped their soulful EP Brazil in the final quarter of last year, and started off 2017 with icy slowjam ‘Isle Of Dogs’. Now S4U are back with ‘Too Much’, a new single which will give listeners to whom MJ Cole and Aaliyah are household names a heady slice of nostalgia. ‘Too Much’ is an ode to classic 90s urban music, with chopped vocal samples, PC SFX and crisp garage beats forming its backbone. Never ones to play it safe, however, there’s a heavy dose of US R&B with S4U citing influences including Darkchild, Timbaland and Teddy Riley. And, as if it needed an even cooler stamp of approval, S4U are appearing on Julie Adenuga’s Beats 1 radio show as her UK Represent. Tune in and check them out as they speak to her every night this week. -HM
