Within the cosy confines of Ryan Egan’s NYC apartment, the multi-instrumentalist co-directs a video with Amanda Taylor Evans to explore the emotions and mindset conveyed through the bluesy single ‘Won’t You Be The One?’. The construction is relative simple, like an elevated form of DIY, as the voyeur is invited into the intimate space to watch Egan’s deadpan expressions, wistful gazes and dealings with loneliness. As he croons over funky basslines and dreamy guitars, he's been 'lonely so long' and although apt at procrastination he know that 'I shouldn’t waste my time,' and yet he continues the cycle while surrounded by images of happy couples. This circumstance is bound to draw parallels with many single people who spend their time fetishing the fake Barbie and Ken doll couples of social media who portray unattainable “relationship goals”.
