LUME SKIN

‘You’re with me then gone / caught in what’s real and what’s not’ are the striking opening words to LUME’s new ballad ‘Skin’. It’s not the first time LUME has mused about the effects of social media on our digital wellbeing – she did so on her previous release ‘Tip Of Your Thumb’ – but ‘Skin’ sees LUME tackle these issues with a more existential lens. Lifted from her forthcoming debut EP, the track also epitomizes how less is more in modern pop, with spacey electronics providing a backdrop to her ethereal vocal. This Thursday sees LUME take to the stage at the Servant Jazz Quarters in Hackney, tickets will no doubt be snapped up quickly. -HM
