VENTURE LOWS SUMMER RIP

This kind of petrol-glugging indie-pop doesn't often make our pages, but Venture Lows, and their bratty, earwormy debut song, 'Summer Rip', is just far too fun to ignore. The band consists of London-based Hassan Anderson and George Williams, but their sound is closer to the ballsy primary coloured rock of say, New York's Lewis Del Mar or Bath outfit, Bad Sounds, than anything else coming out of the capital right now. If drums that sound like they were recorded on a mic'ed up dustbin, sweetly nagging vocals and wiry, punky guitars are your thing, then get to know your favourite new summer anthem, before the rain sets in again. - DC
