Still managing to avoid having a Facebook page, South Coast-based outfit The Pheromoans have occupied their own peculiar niche in the UK's DIY music scene for the last 12 years. Their newest single 'The Sixth Bell' arrived yesterday with a DIY video, which takes us on a tour of Brighton's finest record shops. Sonically focussing on repetitive, garage-rock-inspired guitar riffs, hectic drums and simplistic bass lines provide some solid ground for a rich soundscape of wild, analogue synth experimentation. Lifted from their forthcoming fifth album County Lines (out tomorrow), we might be late to the game with The Pheromoans, but in this case it's better late than never. Catch them live supporting new TMR fave Keel Her at her With Kindness album launch at New River Studios in North London on the 6th of July. -Holly Mullineaux
