Self-styled art rock musician Sunni Colón made quite the mark earlier this year with lo-fi soul jam ‘Little Things’ (produced by Canadian superstar KAYTRANADA), and now the Parisian artist is back with another intimate slow-burner. ‘God As A Woman’ is a gliding soundscape of sensual strings, sparkling keys, laid back rhythms and Thierry Tetsu’s smooth vocal delivery, with just a hint of reverb to give it that iridescent quality. It’s a tastefully classic ode to female divinity, that completes a quiet year for Sunni Colón, but awakens the listener to his sweet sounds ahead of 2018. - HT
