SHYLDE TAKE ME HOME

Mystery is a powerful tool. Withholding a story and allowing the music to lead only heightens intrigue surrounding a project. And this is the case with Shylde, an artist we know very little about but if “Take Me Home” is anything to go by, it is a name worth watching. Yet another artist/producer to impress from Sweden, the electro newcomer nods to fellow-countryman Erik Hassle thanks to a wonderfully impassioned vocal performance, which wails out emphatically above powerful, shuddering, James Blake-esque bass work and intricate, twitching electronic rhythms before a kaleidoscopic, arpeggiated synth line lifts the track even higher into the stratosphere. Let Shylde take you home and check out the suitably dark, analogue visuals here; a mystery worth exploring. -G.O'B
