Purple Pilgrims is a dreampop folk band comprised of sisters Clementine and Valentine Adams who were raised in Hong Kong and on New Zealand’s South Island. The duo have just released their third album Perfumed Earth. Perhaps the most experimental track on this trippy album is ‘Delphiniums in Harmony/ Two Worlds’. This instrumental interlude feels like the beauty, the wonder and the sadness of the world all at once. Celestial synthesiser sounds wobble and widen, with low cello drones and loose saxophones layered on top. When the plucked guitar comes in, the saxophones open up like caged birds that have been freed into the sky. -Ellie Rose Davies
