PSYCHIC MARKERS DREAMING

Psychic Markers are a group of friends and dreamers with notable musical backgrounds, coming together to make brilliantly accomplished psychedelic-leaning alt-pop. Featuring members of Still Corners, My Sad Captains, Great Ytene and Grass House, it's not surprising that an element of dream pop shines through in the London-based quintet's sound. However, Psychic Markers have forged something special in the years they've spent together, creating a sound that is distinctly their own. Floating confidently somewhere between the minimalism of The Velvet Underground and the analogue experimentation of Stereolab, Psychic Markers' brand new single 'Dreaming' is a whimsical lullaby, for the here and now. Ambient synthesizers tumble like waterfalls over the simple-yet-effective drums, bass and guitars, which echo in the background, as singer Steven swoons, "I'm sick of dreaming, about living the dream." Psychic Markers play End of the Road Festival in Dorset on the 1st of September as well as opening up for Ulrika Spacek at Oslo in Hackney on the 12th of October. -HLMX
