Following on from their last single 'Simpatico', which we thought sounded a bit like Portishead, Seattle duo NAVVI are back with more brooding electronics. The latest posting 'What Reason Do We Need?' delves into even darker territory with intricate beats manically colliding with the ethereal singing of member Kristin Henry, but in a way that is more expansive than explosive. The mystical soundscape is one that could cast a chill with the cold harmonics, but their aim is introspection and reflection rather than jubilation.
