MOODOïD AU PAYS DES MERVEILLES DE JULIET

It's been a painfully long time since we've heard some new music from Parisian multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and Melody's Echo Chamber guitarist Pablo Padovani pka Moodoïd. After making a splash in the psychedelic pop world with his incredible Kevin Parker-produced debut EP back in 2013, it's safe to say we've Moodoïd been fans for a quite while now. Yesterday Padovani released another kaleidoscopic gem into the world. 'Au pays des merveilles de Juliet' (which roughly translates to In The Wonderland of Juliet) is an almost annoyingly catchy disco banger, which blends percussive world music-inspired beats with soulful saxophones and outright cheesey synthesizers. Buried in the mix you can hear everything from the off-kilter guitar leanings of Connan Mockasin to hints of 90s rave, which mingle in the background behind Padovani's seductive French vocals. It's so wrong that it's right... listen for yourself now. -HLMX
