This won't come as a shock to anybody, but there's a ton of great music coming out of New York right now. Last month's CMJ showcase seemed to bring even more amazing artists out of the woodwork, but our attention is still locked on another artist who made her impact long before the festival, Jojee. The pop-soul crooner has impressed on every one of her three singles thus far in 2015, and 'Claim', the fourth in the fluttering, perfumed series of compositions, is no different. Drawn from her as-yet unannounced debut EP - slated for 2016 - 'Claim' is jammed with insights on Jojee's recent toxic breakup with a partner who attempted to exert control over her. It's a two fingered salute of the best kind, underpinned by Jojee's effortless tuning and punchy, futuristic grooves. - DC
