There are certain songs that you absolutely have to be patient with to reap the rewards, and Sydney-based newcomer Jack Grace's debut track, 'Hills', is certainly one of them. Beginning from a subtle, dreamy start point, then dipping into a sullen and disconsolate world, you'd be forgiven if you lost your love halfway through. Stick with him though, because by the time all three minutes and thirty-four seconds have elapsed, Jack returns to a graceful, malleable melody, bursting with sticky female harmonies and pungent synth chords. A sensitive, moving debut cut from this exciting songwriting talent. - DC
