After releasing A Place Like You EP back in February this year, London band ISLAND are back up to their old tricks with heartfelt indie-pop in the form of new single ‘Try’. Soft, effected guitars echo into the far distance, setting a peaceful scene for ISLAND’s love story. The opening line, 'We could stumble in and out of love…' suggests endless possibilities, and as the resonant word throughout the single - 'try' - suggests, all it would take is a little effort. The rest of the track is punctuated with stop-start percussion and effervescent strings, forming that signature ISLAND sound. -HT
