HUSKY LOOPS LET GO FOR NOTHING

Husky Loops is an exciting new band composed of three twenty-something Italians now based in London. Fronted by Danio Forni as vocalist and guitarist, alongside bassist Tommaso Medica and drummer Pietro Garrone, the three recently signed to Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records and are soon heading off to landmark music festival SXSW later this month. Clearly, there’s something special about Husky Loops, and for us, that’s apparent in their newest single ‘Let Go For Nothing’. It’s a canny song about freedom, that experiments with contemporary sounds that bleed into realms of hip-hop, RnB, electronica and alternative songwriting. It’s an instantly catchy song that lies just on the fringes of weird, which is exactly why we love it. As for the meaning behind this refreshing track, Danio Forni shares: “We live in a society that puts quite a lot of stress on individuals and music is still a great tool to relieve the pain and frustration. For me ‘Let Go For Nothing’ means being able to free yourself easily, but everyone can add their own meaning to it, it’s a universal simple song. That’s why the hook is a whoop: woo woo woo, woo! I would love to see a big crowd scream that with me, it’s a song for them. Scream and be yourself.” The song is also paired with a simple, yet playful, music video directed by Forni's primary school friend and Manuel Vitali. Turns out all you really need for a music video is a supermarket trolley, a camera and a few friends. - Hannah Thacker”
