HIRO AMA MUSIC FOR PEACE AND HARMONY

Japan-born, London-based artist Hiro Ama has returned with the wonderfully-titled, ‘Music For Peace And Harmony’. It’s a unique composition that focuses on creating experimental sounds using the Waraku, a rare Japanese synthesiser that blends the traditional sounds of the Koto and the Shakuhachi. Alongside this, the texture if further propelled by sweeping flute lines and whispered drums, created by Hiro’s voice, rather than the drum kit he is arguably known for playing. He explains that the track “stemmed from a connection with the instrument itself, as reflected in its name. Music can be like a sanctuary and has got a power of soothing people’s mind and heart, and I wanted to capture the feeling of peace and harmony in this song.” You can also check out the B-side, ‘Sunday’, now. -Dan Peeke
