We’ve been keeping a close eye on South London-based project Great Dad. Having fallen head over heels for their seminal glitchy breakout single ‘1000 Speedboats’ as well catching the duo’s immersive live show on a number of stellar line ups across the capital, Great Dad have just shared news of their debut album. Recently evolving into a fully-realised sextet centred around core members Charlie and Gabriel, the innovative collective’s newest offering ‘Churchy’ is a sobering yet utterly endearing experience. With Charlie’s somewhat neurotic but frighteningly honest lyrics rippling with a subtle auto-tune on top of warped church organ-inspired electronic elements, ‘Churchy’ would do well as the soundtrack to the saddest video game ever. -Holly Mullineaux
