There are certain music personalities, writers and DJs who have a higher, near-enough unquestionable authority when it comes to stamping their approval on a new artist. Zane Lowe is definitely one of them; when he says something is good, it probably is. Last month, Zane gave 'Keep Lying', the debut track from a New Jersey artist called Donna Missal a first spin on his Beats 1 show, and true to form, it's an absolute belter. There's not a great deal of information out there on Missal, although a glance at her Instagram suggests she's been penning tracks with MNEK and dropping by the offices of heavyweight publisher Warner Chappell. That comes as no surprise, 'Keep Lying' is an undeniably perfect slab of indie-rock, with crunching guitar riffs skewered by Missal's gravel-gargling vocals time and time again. Oh and 'Keep Lying' actually hit top spot on the Hype Machine charts just this weekend. Always ahead of the curve, Zane. - - DC
