ALLIE X NEVER ENOUGH

It's hard to believe that April was the last time we heard from Toronto/Los Angeles pop hitmaker Allie X. Having been so prolific up to this point, we did begin to wonder of Allie's slew of stunning singles, from 'Catch' to 'Bitch' and onto the sublime COLLXTION I EP (although at seven tracks, it's basically a very good, very short album), was all part of an extended daydream or lengthy MDMA trip. Anyway, the wait for new material is over this month, with the announcement of the COLLXTION II EP and its effervescent lead single, 'Never Enough'. Sure Allie X hasn't strayed too far from the mould she set out on her first mini-album, but why would you want her to? The fragrant dusky vocals are still super on-point, dusted over the top of thrilling '80s skewed synths and a robust full spectrum of beats. Welcome back, Allie, we've missed you. - DC
