With The Coral’s Bill Ryder Jones at the production helm, it's difficult to go too far off the indie track. He’s put his backing into new South London duo Alibis and their new single ‘Cruel World’ is a rock and roll tinged guitar anthem with flecks of American soul throughout it’s meandering riffs. The pair, made up of Richie Skint and Harvey Lee, have a tightness that only comes through years of friendship and there is a no frills feeling within their songwriting that feels believable and slightly old school. Nothing wrong with that though, when the guitars hit in all the right places. - SJ
