It is with great pleasure we welcome back Aeroplane Mode, the classically trained New York-based electronic duo who brought us the tense, downtempo 'Wild Excuses', with a radiant new single ‘Aphrodite’. It’s a blissful seventh heaven number characterized by multi-instrumentalist Alex Marko’s effervescent arpeggiated synths shimmering through the ether, epically reverberated boom clap beats that cut through the haze, and Jess Carvo’s mellifluously creamy vocal line that acts as our guide. This euphoria, however, is juxtaposed with nostalgic and deeply lovelorn lyrics about a youthful desire lost in times past. It is precisely in this dichotomy that Aeroplane Mode’s new single finds its power. This is something we can all relate to, for indeed while the Greek goddess of love lets us all down from time to time, there is sometimes beauty in these memories as we push forward.
