KANEHOLLER LITE BRITE

From Boston to Brooklyn to Venice Beach, the state hopping duo Kaneholler have laid claim to a few locations over the years. Although the scenery has changed since the project’s conception back in 2011, their music has continued to grow within a sphere of soul-led electronics. It’s a combination that newly weds Jon Foster and Chelsea Tyler expertly move through in new track 'Lite Brite'. According to the pair, this is a song about “when someone steals your toys”, based on a story from Tyler’s sister Mia who used to steal toys from another neighbourhood kid and dedicated to her own favourite plaything, a Lite Brite. More than that, this track also marks a brighter direction in Kaneholler’s sound as they work up to a debut album. The synths are dizzyingly nostalgic, the vocals are luscious and light, and the alternating flow is sure to keep you on your toes, which is probably best with all these toy thieves hanging around. - HT
