FLOWER DRUMS BACK TO EARTH

Hold on to your hats and prepare to be blown away by Flower Drums sensitize electronic-R&B on new cut ‘Back To Earth’. It follows on from the Melbourne-via-Perth outfit’s 28 Mansions EP, and like gravity, the trip-hop beats, sensual vocals and rumbling bass of ‘Back To Earth’ pull you into the centre of this hot-and-heavy track. The interplay between synthetic bass and electronic percussion here is almost as good as the blend between lead vocalist Leigh Craft’s dreamy tone and featured Sydney artist Ash Hendriks’ light-yet-smokey voice. It’s an incredibly cool track that you should probably turn the volume up on to fully enjoy its surprisingly motivational effects. If you like this, then you’ll certainly want to keep your eyes and ears open for Flower Drums' debut album, Sunshine Terror Babies, out later this year. - HT
