Talos is the musical project of architect Eoin French, who over the last three years has put out a steady stream of dramatic electronica. After the success of EP O Sanctum, the Irishman is now back with his first album. ‘Odyssey’ is the first we’ve heard from it, and is everything we’ve come to expect from Talos – beautiful, building and highly cinematic. The background is dominated by a wash of reverb and pulsing electronics which slowly build to a stunning climax. In the foreground are Talos’ whispering, soft vocals and a thick wad of lush harmony provided by multiple pianos and synths. With tracks as warm as ‘Odyssey’, it’s well worth keeping an eye out for Wild Alee, Talos’ debut album, which is due out on April 21^st. -HM
