Porcelain Raft, the music project of Italian-born, US-based Mauro Remiddi, has just released the second track from his upcoming album Microclimate, which is due out next month. Dreampop ballad ‘Big Sur’ feels straight out of the late nineties with its expansive, lazy phrasing and wash of dreamy, heady guitars. Remiddi’s vocals are pushed to their limits with the chorus proclaiming in high falsetto: “…come on this way / before you know the answers are on the way…” Together with ‘Distant Shore’, released a couple of months previous, Remiddi’s new album is shaping up to be a fantastic release.
