NIGHT OWLS BETTER WITH AGE

In a slamming indictment of the digital age, Night Owls try to convince us that it gets better with age. With direct, cutting lyrics such as ‘there’s a residual addiction to satisfy my intuition/I can’t help but take a look because I don’t know what I’ve missed’, the band tackle head on the perils of living in a digital age. “Better With Age is a commentary on this generation’s obsession with social media and how people portray their lives through rose-tinted filters online. It’s written from the perspective of someone who’s become addicted to social media and how it’s become addictive” – they say. Topical subject aside, ‘Better With Age’ is a biting grunge anthem complete with unforgiving synth patterns and screeching guitar lines. Catch the band live on 20th April in Hull supporting Weirds, or at the Indie Banquet in Leeds supporting Baba Naga on 18th May. –Holly Manners
