Everyone has sat in their car staring out of the window in the rain, pretending to be in a music video. Swimming Tapes have finally done it in one take, in a Renault 12. ‘Easy Strand’ is a dreamy pop tune, full of jangly guitars and echoing, layered voices. Directed by Laurie Barralough, the vintage video gives a feeling of nostalgia, with the director commenting that "This might be the first one-take, time-bending home movie ever shot? Long car journeys (in the rain) are a big part of growing up and we wanted a video that was exactly that”. This is the band’s first release since 2017’s Soft Sea Blue EP, and it’s even more exciting. -Dan Peeke
