It's very exciting to have Oliver Wilde back. The talented singer-songwriter has been on a self-imposed, two year hiatus but today (7 April) returns with a typically intellectual, gently mind-bending first look at his on-the-way second full-length. With its whirling guitars and shimmering, trippy vocal line, 'Bifida' is a wonderfully psychedelic number that shows-off the Bristolian's multi-instrumental ability with great assurance. "But you do well to return in one piece / Happy as can be" he drones with a juxtaposing unease and an almost Elliott Smith-esque delivery, aligning him with the equally brilliant Sivu. Wild has indeed returned in one piece and we're the ones happy as can be; an immersive a wholly impressive return. -G.O'B
