We're very lucky to have Mt. Wolf back. After something of a hiatus last year, they returned and are straight back to top form. "Anacrusis" is the second stunning, gossamer taste of their forthcoming Hex EP, due for its CRC Music release on 25 March. Once again a glorious falsetto rings out above sparkling guitar work and a wash of splashing percussion to create the chilling, crystal hue they have made their own. Comparisons with Sigur Ros are unavoidable, but it's not bad company to keep and the way this new track builds to a gorgeous cacophony certainly puts the talented trio in the same breath as the Icelandic legends. Described as a song that "deals with convalescence and rebirth from a dark place with the help of someone else", "Anacrusis" is the latest piece of evidence that Mt. Wolf's journey is set to continue beautifully. A thrilling live show at London's Oslo is set for 10 May and this latest cut will surely be an emotional highlight. -G.O'B
