‘Nope!’ adds to the electric catalogue of alt-pop that already surrounds London-based artist Leo Bhanji. With a range of influences that stem from pop-punk to R&B via Lou Reed and Frank Ocean, the diversity of this tune is immediately noticeable. The lo-fi video that comes alongside it perfectly complements the laid back vocal and unusual (yet perfectly balanced) beat that sits below. Of the tune, he says “I made this song with a lot of cute textures that unfold, like I was visualising a flower blooming or something, but it never really gets there. it gives me a kind of nostalgia for that in-between space in things”. -Dan Peeke
