Jimi has dropped a brace of similarly enthralling new tracks since - 'Other Man' and 'Woman' - but this week sees him moving into a new phase with the announcement of his debut EP, Islington. Tingling guitars ripple out along with his rumbling, gravel-and-grit peppered vocal during the intro, but it's on the chorus where things really kick up a notch - punishing drums and honky-tonk piano trills beefing up the blues vibe tenfold. Rumours are still abound over Jimi Charles Moody's identity - he's allegedly a major label chart-topper - but if we're being honest, we couldn't care less while the going is this good. - DC
