JAZZ PURPLE HIGH

Manchester’s Jazz Purple works out of the aptly named Sunshine Studios where he’s been producing work for the likes of Becky Hill, Sasha Keable, Wizkid and Bipolar Sunshine, but more recently this Northern native has been releasing a string of self-produced summer sirens. Following on from ‘Don’t Hide’ and ‘With You’, ‘High’ is easily his funkiest track to date. Opening with a dramatic orchestra and spacey synths, the instrumentals take a brief pause before dropping into a head-bop worthy bassline, over which Jazz Purple slickly croons. Throughout ‘High’, JP shuns financial success or fame in favour of that irreplaceable universal force - love. When that chorus comes around, you’ll simply want to throw your hands in the air and get down to the disco flow that this producer-singer-songwriter delivers with ease. - Hannah Thacker
