GROOMS TURN YOUR BODY

Brooklyn trio Grooms have announced the follow up to their Krautrock-inspired debut Comb Your Feelings Through Your Hair. The noisy alt-rock trio consisting of front man Travis Johnson, bassist Jay Heiselmann and drummer/actor Steve Levine (who appeared in Nexflix's Better Call Saul) have taken a more subdued approach to their newest effort 'Turn Your Body'. This time taking influences from the soaring synthesizers of Kraftwerk and a chilled out Boards of Canada-esque vibe, 'Turn Your Body' is piece of experimental ambience propelled forward by an unrelenting tribal drum beat. Taken from Grooms' forthcoming album Exit Index, 'Turn Your Body' "is loosely about getting married, which I did last year", explains Johnson. "The video has, basically, nothing to do with that, because that would be silly. Instead, we explored and inserted ourselves into an awkward moment between two people (which I suppose a wedding could be)." You can check out the band's self-directed video here now. -HLMX
