Japanese-born, London-based songwriter Grimm Grimm (aka Koichi Yamanoha) is gearing up for the release of his second album Cliffhanger, which arrives next month. Grimm Grimm’s new single ‘Ballad of Cell Membrane’ picks up where his glimmering yet somber 2015 album Hazy Eyes Maybe left off, combining intricate folk with swirling psychedelia. Gently phased guitar strums ripple beneath an exotic acoustic lead line as Yamanoha’s breathless vocals bear a striking resemblance to Elliott Smith’s beautifully melancholy tones.
