EARTHGANG UP

Getting us in the halloween spirit, Atlanta hip-hop duo EARTHGANG have just released a dark new single 'Up', along with a spooky 80s-inspired video. The rapping on the track is manic, the production is doomy and bass-heavy. The video follows a young boy who is on a school trip around in an art gallery. He finds a room that in under construction and he walks through a plastic curtain. He observes the creepy painting and goes to touch it...suddenly he is in a different room, where EARTHGANG point at a sign reading "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ARTWORK". People give the boy menacing stares, as if they all know that he has touched the art. Soon, the paintings begins to morph into trippy monsters, moving within the frame. The people in the gallery begin turning into devilish alien-like creatures too. Toward the end, the young boy is cursed by these monsters, and he joins them in dance. The end of the video shows the boy being mocked by his classmates after dancing. It suggests that perhaps this world he became engulfed by was a figment of his imagination. The video is highly amusing, as it touches on feelings of being a child, comedy and the supernatural. -Ellie Rose-Davies
