When we first heard Drahla's blistering Sonic Youth-leaning 'Faux Text' back in March, their fuzzy bass lines, frenetic guitars and achingly cool vocals certainly made an impression. Now they've revealed an arty self-directed video to go with it and it's just as good. The haunting black and white home movie is brooding and intense, blurring the boundaries between reality and the surreal, through their clever manipulation of darkness and light. The ghostly silhouettes of the band combined with trippy camera effects and some well-used props make for a slightly bizarre but entirely hypnotic viewing experience. You can catch Drahla supporting garage-rock legends Meatbodies at the Moth Club in July or at the mighty Parquet Courts Leeds show in August. -HLMX
