Black Light Smoke aka Jordan Lieb has recently dropped ‘Every Beat (No Regrets)’ as part of his City Life EP, full of atmospheric House tunes. The tune closes off the release as a digital bonus track, with a hazy, vocal-led tone heading it up throughout. Minimalist inspiration is heard in the repeating beats, while a lo-fi production style gives the vocal element a distinct character. Filters and moments of musical silence allow the piece to twist between dense, electronic dance music and a flavour of borderline experimental spoken word. A fitting end to the release. -Dan Peeke
