BARRIE TAL UNO

Fans of Broadcast, Melody's Echo Chamber and Still Corners take note, because the second ever single from Brooklyn-based dreamers Barrie is a spectral slice of synth pop that is sure to draw you in. The soothing synthesizers on 'Tal Uno' bleed hazily over a moody yet minimalist bass line and a gently beating drum machine as washed-out guitars add suitably dreamy flourishes in all the right places. Not sounding too dissimilar to Julee Cruise's iconic Twin Peaks theme 'Falling', there's a definite late-80s/early-90s vibe going on here, and whilst it might not be the most original sounding track we've ever heard, it's an absolutely gorgeous offering from these rising newcomers with a killer chorus and a mysterious sense of adventure. Check it out here now. -Holly Mullineaux
