ISAAC GRACIE THE DEATH OF YOU & I

If his music is anything to go by, it seems as though Isaac Gracie has been through the mill romantically. His last track was written around the wounded lyric The only home I know is for me and you / But it’s all in my mind’, and as you may guess from its title, his latest single follows a similar theme. Opening with a Divine Comedy-style scene-setter with some Wild-West twanging guitars, the chorus descends with almost comic intensity into a roaring crash of guitars and drums. Just as you’ve caught your breath, Gracie brings the track right back to its original dynamic. The effect is a bit like going down a rollercoaster blindfolded, but you can’t doubt its dramatic effect and flawless execution. The track is taken from Gracie’s upcoming EP, which features an exciting collaboration with Mura Masa, and is out in the midst of a run of UK and European shows on 29th September. -HM
