Musical chameleons and long-term TMR favourites Flamingods have never been afraid to experiment with their sound. Since catching up with band leader Kamal back in 2016 to discuss their psychedelia-steeped album Majesty, we've been hooked on the foursome's globally-inspired jams and adventurous attitude (see last year's Speedy Wunderground-released 'Hyperborea Part 1 & 2'). Brand new offering 'Marigold' delivers the burst of sunshine its title implies, drawing on elements of disco, funk and far-eastern psychedelia to create an electro-inspired wig out that'll have you head banging in no time. The new single arrives alongside news of their fifth album Levitation, which will be released via indie odd-balls Moshi Moshi on the 3rd of May, but if you can't wait that long, you can catch Flamingods supporting the legendary Syrian wedding singer Omar Souleyman at The Marble Factory in Bristol on the 31st of January. -Holly Mullineaux
