New London collective TENDER stepped out of the shadows with their uplifting debut song 'Legion' over the weekend. Combining elements of classic '90s indie and gooey psychedelic-pop, the band describe themselves as "a core group of lifelong friends operating out of bedroom studios", but you'd hardly believe that 'Legion' came from upstairs in someone's mum's house. A polished three-minute number which poses more questions about TENDER than answers, 'Legion' is skewered by a trembling snaking bassline and the frontman's bleached croon. Excellent stuff. - DC
