Instead of following the normal release pattern London's The Slow Revolt has decided to dish out music his own way. He's gradually putting out works in progress from his upcoming album writing and we love the intimate insight this is giving us. His last demo 'Messina' was beautifully raw and brittle but new offering 'Small Fires', although still stunning, shows a new direction. More complex, with a steady pounding beat of electronics, it makes the whole project even more multi-dimensional and leaves us guessing how it will all fit together. What doesn't change though is Joe Mizra's breathtaking voice, which holds real heavyweight potential. We wait obediently to see where he'll take these tracks come album time. - SJ
