Lava La Rue has her fingers in a number of creative pies. She is an MC, rapper, musician, clothes designer, producer and the founder of the nine8 collective - the West London group making waves in fashion and music. She gives us a taste of her world in the new video for 'Stitches'. The video is filmed from a POV perspective, following Lava around. The footage is jittery, mirroring the trap drum beat. Quick cuts are made between scenes of her with friends in a park, to tall brutalist flats and her in the corner shop, giving us a sense of her London reality. Lava returns to the room in which she woke at the start of the video, whereby there are two physical versions of herself, creating a kind of existential paradox. -Ellie Rose-Davies
